A D1 would blow your car up in short order. You should look into Corral.net and see what they have for used kits.
A twinscrew or roots blower such as a Kenne Bell, Whipple, Saleen, ect will be more fun on the street as the power comes on very strong down low. These are the types that replace your intake manifold.
Now a centrifugal such as Procharger, Vortec, Powerdyne, Paxton look similar to a turbo housing except they are belt driven. Since they must "spool" the power tends to come on strong after 3-4k rpms. These will seem to lag a bit but will pull like a freight train all the way to redline.
Either one is going to net you some serious gains. You should be easily over 350rwhp with whatever kit you choose. Just make sure you get a dynamite tune and do not exceed the magical 400rwhp if you want the stock motor to live a long and fearless life.
PM if you have any further questions.
