Cars.com has a different take on its annual awards, placing vehicles in categories for work, play, family, and eco-friendly. It’s no surprise to us, though, that the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 took top honors for the “Best Car for Driving Fun” and won the overall category for “Play Car of the Year.” The web site praised nearly every aspect of the Boss 302, from the 5.0-liter V8 to the adjustable suspension and steering to the retro styling. The 2012 Mustang Convertible also won a category, the “Best Car for Sun Lovers.”

We’ve liked the Mustang’s blend of raw power and handling prowess. Those qualities have been relentlessly honed in the Boss 302, and we’re suitably impressed.
