Even 450 at the crank sounds very high for a n/a 306 with h/c/e/i etc. What do you mean by "lean" timing? Who tuned your car? Either way, do the 31 spline upgrade.

450 at the crank or to the wheels? You didn't mention if you had a power adder or not.......with the mods you listed, I'd think you'd need one to make that much power.
