You can buy lug nut sockets with a plastic or kevlar lining. Thats what a lot of shops use for specialty lugs. You may need to contact your local Mac, Matco, Snap-On dealer or find something online.
Gap depents on compression and aspiration. If it's a low compression n/a car you want a larger gap upward of .050.
I have seen cars lose up to .3 of a second just because of weather.

The et was only 9.08. I was out of the groove until i hit 3rd gear. MSD is a 7531. Power isn't the issue it was track conditions and my suspension tune. Normally the car shoots straight down the center like it's on rails. It's a relatively easy car to drive.
