My cousin's dog was hit by a car about 3 years ago. The vet said that the dog can survive on 3 legs. He had the dog's leg amputated and it is doing fine. Check with your Vet and see what they think. I had to put our basett hound down a few years ago and that was a really hard thing to do. I know what you are going through.

Dude....euthanizing him should NEVER be a consideration!!! Charge the 5 grand if you have to...your dog is a living being...that freakin' loves you

Putting him down wasn't even considered, my girl's ex said "put him down", she told him " i should of put you down". Lol

Yeah....that's what credit cards are for!! My brother spent 10 grand on his dog....skin cancer/chemo. Dog lived a nice long life afterwards.
