Found a Coyote I want. Need opinions!

Hey guys, as most of my buddies from SVTsnake know, I have been in the market for a 2011+ 5.0. I found a really awesome car, and came to terms with the seller on a price of $29,500. The car has 15k miles and is near mint condition (has a tiny rock chip on front bumper and miniscule scratch on passenger seat). The pro and the con of the car is that it has the Ford Dealer installed Roush blower. The only reason it is a con is that the Roush 3yr 36k warranty is not transferrable to the next owner of the car. The seller had the PCM flashed by Roush and the blower sees 7 pounds of boost. He did everything the right way, but shit happens. Any car can blow up right?

So my big question is can I live with no warranty at all on a near $30k car? Do I just say Fugg it you only live once, and not worry about warranty?

but idk if i would take the risk of something going wrong as soon as you get it... that's a lot of money for something just to happen with no help, but, if you can afford to fix something IF something did go wrong, i'd so go for it lol

I hear you. That is the exact thing in my head now. Say god forbid the motor blows up...that would kill me. It is killing me because the car is so awesome.

It wasn't a big deal when my fox blew up because I was only in to the car for $6k, and I was able to do the swap myself :(

I know man. I am really hemming and hawing over it. The guy did everything right, but I will be destroyed if that what if happens

you have another car to drive/notch?? if so, if that "what if" did happen, you will prolly have decent insurance (for those big "what if's") and if something did happen, you wouldn't be stressing to get it fixed immediately because you had another car to drive... giving you time to scrape up some money to pay for whatever happened... it's so tempting and there is a lot of different factors to think about... i feel bad for you lmao ;)

The notch is gone DRCJasper bought it in the fall. My DD is a piece of garbage PT Cruiser. It is garbage, but reliable transportation.

For what it is worth I have seen 650HP coyotes not blow their motor, they are pretty strong and can last. 7 pounds of boost is kind of tame when considering that some of these cars see 12 pounds of boost or higher but most of them see about what the Roush kit is making. I havent heard of a #8 going on a supercharged car only N/A but just as a precaution I would see if you could pull the sparkplug on #8 and take a look at it to see what kind of condition it is in. I am not trying to create fear in people saying oh your #8 is going to be toast because only a handful maybe like 8 or 10 have had this issue from what I know.

Here is a bad #8 spark plug so you can see what I mean.



I say go with it, Roush makes some pretty good cars and they put a lot of time in to make sure that can keep a warranty on this.

Anytime :D, honestly I think you could go for it and not have to worry about it. Do you know if the car has a wideband?

It does not. I am such a giant wuss though. I have to let the guy know by 11am because he has the car on ebay and has another buyer, but that guy is in Minnesota so he would rather have a local sale :(

Personally I think you should go for it. Those engines from what I understand run aftermarket blowers more than comfortably and since its a roush blower installed by the factory and chipped by it, I'm sure it should be reliable, not to mention 7 pounds shouldn't worry you too much, I think its when you flirt with 10+ that things get iffy. BTW that is definitely a beautiful car, I'd envy you hahaha

The trepidation in putting down 30k without a guarantee is understandable but I would say just do it.



White 2010+ Mustangs with the right wheels look pretty awesome. I know I have one with a car that has the saleen grill on it that looks insanley nice I just can't find it at the moment.

I say go for it, but if it still bothers you just remove the supercharger and sell it in the classifieds section here. I'm sure someone will gladly take it off your hands for some nice coin!

Also, that is one hell of a sick car even without the supercharger!
