I have been on & off of NYM dealing with the possible purchase of a new 2018 Mustang. Various issues have now delayed or even stopped my purchase of a refreshed 2018. The private sale of my 2016 CS fell through within the last 24 hours. Hence my modified 2016 GT/CS is still in my stable. Secondly retail sales , customer orders for the 2018 Mustang does not have a green light at this time from the FMC. Any orders entering the order banks are dealer inventory orders. This was the case when i ordered my refreshed 2010 GT S197 back in 2009. That Mustang was held in QC for weeks & was not released o time. My 2015 Mustang when ordered was not a STOCK dealer order. It was a custom order . Ordered in November 2014. Received January 2015. Since the incident with my 2010 GT , i do not elect to purchase initial stock ordered inventory cars during a refresh. I was thinking about purchasing a different Ford unit this weekend , other than a Mustang as well. I had built & priced a FUSION SPORT with all options as well as 2018 Mustangs. Since my 2016 sale fell through that is now not going to happen. I have informed my dealership that no purchase will take place at this time. Retail orders of the refreshed 18 MY probably will start sometime in November, 2017. Production of the new Mustang is still set for October 2, 2017 for dealer inventory orders. The new 18 MY Mustang also has late availability on certain options. Such as Forged Aluminum wheels for the PP 67E & 67G Ecoboost & GT.Performance package LEVEL 2 also is late availability. If i still choose to order a 2018 MY Mustang it would happen at the earliest late December & the latest i would consider ordering the refreshed Mustang being March 2018. Currently i own 2 GT Mustangs. Since 2009 , i have owned 5 Mustangs.
