Roush first announced their Phase 3 supercharger system back in November at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, but at the time the specifics about the kit were scarce. Now the company has finally released a full list of details including the final horsepower and torque numbers: 675 and 585. That’s right, the Roush Phase 3 supercharger boosts the Coyote 5.0L V8 by 255 horsepower and and 195 lb-ft torque. Both complete and upgrade kits are offered, meaning owners of a Roush Phase 1 or 2 system only need to purchase the necessary parts to reach the Phase 3 level.
So how does Roush manage to squeeze so much horsepower out of the Mustang’s 5.0L V8? The basis for the system remains the same – the tried and trusted 2.3L TVS blower, but it’s matched with an 80mm pulley, high-flow fuel rails with 47 lb/hr injectors, a high efficiency intercooler and larger radiator, a cold air intake system, a fuel pump voltage regulator and a unique Roush PCM calibration.
Retail pricing for the full Phase 3 supercharger system is listed at $7,199.99 while the Phase 3 upgrade kit is listed at $1,099.99 to $1,499.99 depending on which version is currently installed.
