Yet another change in plans. I have got side tracked with power related mods. The H&R springs will go in, as will a UPR K-member I got for the car. Track width changes will have to wait for now.
I have done this.
TFI and distribitor is gone via EDIS set-up. Needed in order to make room for this.
The blower is a m122 from a 07-12 Shelby GT500. It is a bit small for the sze of my motor, but should provide a good kick in the pants down low.
This picture has the blower just sitting on top of the intake on my car now. Ducting will be similar to a 3.8 SuperCoupe, blower will discharge out in the area vacated by the distributor, go through a front mounted intercooler, then enter the motor through the back of the intake manifold. Throttle body will be in approxiatly the same location as in the picture.
I drilled and tapped the blower case so I could cut off the wider mounting tabs, they were just too wide to leave room for injectors, without getting the whole thing stupid high.
Cut and ground down some.
Blower looks a lot better with the tabs removed too.
The plate I made to bolt the blower to, which will in turn be bolted to the intake.
I relocated the battery to the trunk, it's getting a bit crowded back there now. I am going to drive the car a bit, then remove the turbo stuff. The manifold I will be using is an old Offenhouser 360. Basically a low profile single plane with a center divider. I have a lot to do to the manifold.
The plan is to port match the intake to my heads, remove the rest of the center divider, build the rear throttle body mount, plate in the top, and weld in a section of 1 1/4" aluminum tubing. Blower plate will bolt to that, and blower will bolt from under the plate up into the blower case.
I have a limited amount of time to work on the car now, so progress has been slow.
