Re: Ran my quickest 1/4 times tonight at MOMS racing
Took my Mach1
Automatic to the track and was very pleased and happy at the times Ive reached ;;
First run 13.32
Second run was 13.24
Third run was 13.20
The 60ft times were 1.8s
My only problem or question is, what are my ET Trap speeds so slow....102mph?
The S197 Mustang were running 13.3 to 13,8 but had 104 top speed,
seems I should be at 104 or more.
My car has FACTORY 3,55 gears, stock tune and exhaust, except for X PIPE AND ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFT..using E/T Streets
Why are my et trap speeds soo slow
Newton's Second law
F = ma
Force equals
mass times
acceleration.
Applied torque (
F) will give you your time whereas speed comes from horsepower. The weight of the vehicle (
m) greater the weight the greater the torque to push it, more traction for greater force....
I had less traction so my tires had less resistance on them so I had unapplied energy in them and as they got traction 15 feet farther down the track where I apply that energy with less weight resistance as my mass was moving already so I accelerated faster from that point. Your energy was absorbed into the resistance of the tires that is what slowed you in comparison to my run right next to you.
You were quicker, I was faster.
Your 1.88 60' vs my 2.1 60' is telling, I spin at launch and spin again in second. Add .2 to your 60' and add 1 mph to your run and you would have a 13.6 at 103. Take .2 off my 60' and 1 mph off my run and I would have a 12.9 at 104. Time is the name of the game,
mph is second, get your car to breath better and you will find higher mph and torque. I am matching my best et's from last year and have added more HP with the mods so I am running faster by 2mph but I didn't make any mods for increased torque.
Now if you had left the line with a .672 rt against my .582 I would have lost that race as we were .091 apart in et's.
I might be wrong...but I think it is the best answer I can give.
