For 2013 Ford upgraded the Shelby GT500′s front brakes with 15-inch calipers and 6-piston calipers, providing more stopping power to counteract the 662 horsepower 5.8-liter supercharged V8. This still may not be sufficient enough for the weekend racing, though, which is why Ford Racing Performance Parts has announced a new 2-piece 15-inch rotor that fits the 2013-2014 Shelby GT500. Part number M-1125-MSVT15, the new rotors work with the factory 6-piston calipers and include a pre-assembled brake rotor hat, brake rotor and all necessary hardware for installation. The rotors have the same factory finish as the factory units, and best of all they save 10 pounds of unsprung mass compared to the stock 1-piece rotors.
Suggested retail pricing for the 2-piece 15-inch rotors is listed at $1,595.00.
