Hey Chuckie,
I have a Alky Control Methanol Kit that runs 100% pure methanol, no water mixed in.. Water just kills engine parts and such when mixed with Meth.
To give you an idea, I was at 8 pounds of boost and at 354HP to the wheels with a Vortech V3. After the methanol kit and turning the s/c up to 12 pounds of boost, I left my tuner with 471RWHP at the wheels. It was actually de-tuned from 515RWHP because of the block.
The advantages of Methanol is:
A. Reduces IAT's
B. Reduces Cylinder Head temperature + pressure
C. Turns 93 Gas into 109 Octane gas
The disadvantages are:
A. You have to fill it up once a week or so (only 4 bucks a gallon but just a pain to have to add a fluid somewhere else).
B. Long trips can be a pain because if you run out you can't get into boost anymore (Which means always carry some with you if your going on a cruise, but in all honesty I go through a gallon a week so not bad).
As for the kits... Snow performance is a good kit but not by any means close to quality like Alky control. I have two LEDs in my car, one that tells me when I am starting to get low on Methanol and one that turns red (Pressure tests each time I get near boost to check everything) and turns green to let me know it's active. Fail safe for the kit is awesome and it's the only real kit that you can run 100% pure methanol with... Snow recommends you run 50/50 because their pump cannot handle the strength of straight meth.
As for tuning, my tuner built in safety in his tune so that if for some reason your IAT's raise (Because you forgot your low level was on and it can't spray) it will not advance the timing and your car will just bog down. It won't hurt anything since it's a fail safe.
The tuner I went to and recommend is Lidio visit his site

To be honest, he sat with me in the car tuning it for about 6 hours and I paid the same price another tuner in our area charges. His site has a section dedicated to methanol injection and he has put it on at least 100 cars with no issues at all for the last 3 or 4 years. I will NEVER go to ANY tuner other then him and I prob. will end up going back in the winter time because he is going to end up building my short block with forged internals. In all seriousness, he is the most thorough tuner that I know of and someone who actually cares about his customer's cars like I said 6 hours he spent with me on the Dyno for about $500 bucks- He explained everything he changed in the tune and even took me out for a test drive in it and then switched seats and let me take it out to make sure everything was running good and no issues.
If you have any other questions, ask here or email me
EDIT: I should also advise you that if your not boosting you are not shooting methanol obviously, just so you know. Also, right now in the city and thruway I get 18 miles to the gallon
