I would like to share a quick window trim repair.
I am no Fox Body Guru, therefore, I didn't realize the window trim along the top of the door, was NOT a rough, slightly wrinkle finish from the factory. When I removed the trim, to simply clean underneath and give the trim a good cleaning, I found the trim area that was under the mirror was smooth and had a bit of a shine. The trim that was exposed to the sun was rough, like a wrinkle finish and a bit faded.
Now to the quick fix.
I started with sanding the trim down using 320 wet sandpaper. (I always use Simple Green in the water when I wet sand plastics) After a the rough finish was removed, I finished it with 1500 paper. For a final finish and shine, I polished the trim with plastic polish. The end result may not be perfect but way better than before.
