I got an engine warning light the day after changing my spark plugs. Advance auto's handheld code reader said "fuel rail pressure sensor malfuntion".
I had a weak fuel pump last year & it was changed (GT 40 super car pump) & got no more codes. Is it definatly the fuel rail pressure sensor or could Advance auto's code reader just pump out a generic code for fuel/deliv/press problem or should I believe it is the fuel rail sensor?
I am worried that fuel pump might have to be changed again. I picked up a new fuel filter & filter chaging tool & will change fuel filter just in case. I checked all the connectors since maybe we didnt get a connection tight after changing the spark plugs. I tried several times on way home to get code again by getting on it hard up thru 4th gear. No light. Since the code was cleared @ Advance Auto I cant recheck code @ a ford dealer to see if we get same error code diagnostic.
BTW its s stock 4.6L 2v with a ATI Procharger SC @ 8lbs. 255lph should be plenty of fuel pump.
