Any help much appreciated...... I have a 03 cobra with alittle over 51,000 miles... A few mths ago my clutch was replaced (spec stg 2) along with a brand new flywheel, pilot, throwout bearing... Everything great. About 2 months ago my clutch cable broke and this is where the madness begins... Ordered a new cable from Autozone had it put in. The first couple days everything was great but then noticed it was hard to get into random gears sometimes. I called my mechanic which is also a good friend he said cable probably stretched alittle which is not uncommon. He adjusted the cable with a prexisting firewall adjuster the previous owner had installed and everything was good again. A few mornings later pop! Okay just a POS cable from autozone. I just let it be and put the car away for alittle bit because of snow etc. In the meantime I ordered a UPR kit which included a new firewall adjuster, quadrant, and cable. The car needed new adjuster because the one on the car was chewed up from previous owner messing with it and read that a good quadrant can help with pedel feel etc.... My mechanic installed new stuff Sunday but only the cable because the previous owner already installed some quadrant but theres no name on it and it seems UPR sent wrong adjuster because he says theres noway it will work with cable they sent. Its after 30 days so no return for me... My friend said the cable is adjustable where you install it on the fork so no need for adjuster anyway. I am driving the car sunday everything is good but by the evening the car is starting not to want to go into gear.... Yesterday i bring the car in and my friend adjust it and once again car is good then 2 hours later its hard to shift again... I call my friend today but hes off the next two days, so I bring the car to another friends shop. He said he didnt know what to tell me, he said clutch is engaging right, everything looks good. He said he didnt want to tighten cable anymore or it will snap. he had no idea why the car is so hard to shift...........Sorry for long post but wanted to include as much info as possible..... Before the first cable broke i never had any shifting issues with the tranny, when the car is off u can go through the gears like butter.....I've been reading about maximum motorsports kit but before I spend anymore money would like input thank you.
