1989 LX 2.3 with auto trans.
Just got this car for my son. It was parked for about 5 years. I Changed fluids and did a tune up. I start the car and it idles fine for a couple minutes the starts surging from 600-1100 and gets worse until it stalls. I can fiddle with the throttle and keep it running but let it go and the surging continues. It will randomly straighten up and idle smooth. No pattern to this though.
It drives fine and haven't notice the surging yet while stopping and such.
I removed the IAC cleaned it good with no improvement. What are some other things to check before I start through parts at it?
