With the SEMA show about to kick off in Las Vegas, it’s time for drifting maestro Vaughn Gittin Jr. to reveal his interpretation of the latest Mustang. Introducing the 2018 Ford Mustang RTR, with the now trademark illuminated nostrils flanking the grille indicating that there’s something uniquely different about this particular Stang. There’s also a redesigned front bumper as part of an aerodynamics package, some RTR badges along the side of the car, and a “RTR Design Package.”So exterior mods, as you can see, have been kept to a minimum. And that’s because most of the changes are out of sight. A trio of engine tunes: Spec 1, Spec 2, and Spec 3, will be offered to buyers of the Mustang RTR, the most potent of which ups output of the GT’s 5.0-liter V8 to over 700 horsepower. The exact details of what Gittin Jr.’s tuning firm has done will be revealed in due course, but we suspect a supercharger and intercooler is involved along with a performance suspension, bespoke exhaust system and upgraded brakes. What’s not in doubt is that the Mustang RTR will be well up for a fight with the Dodge Hellcat, although it might want to leave the Demon well alone. **TAKEN FROM CAR BUZZ**
