1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0, 5 Speed, 25th Anniversary
- Original 4 Cylinder car, odometer reads 169,xxx
- Bone Stock 5.0 Taken from a 1990 GT, unconfirmed yet believable after driving, I was told the motor has 50,xxx miles on it
- Borg Warner T-5 Tranny, also from '90 GT
- Ford 8.8 Rear End, stock gears, taken from same donor car
- New E3 Plugs, Ford Racing 9mm Spark Plug Wires along with MSD Distributor Cap and Rotor
- Brand new ignition coil located on the driver's side fenderwell
- Fresh windshield as installed by Safelight Autoglass
- New Wiring Harness installed at 'The Wire Shop' in Mahopac, NY in the late fall of 2010
- Car has Long Tube Headers, Catless H-Pipe, Dynomax mufflers and stainless steel tail pipes
- Comes with brand new, in box, UPR Subframe Connectors
- I could part with a Trick Flow Street Heat Intake with 1" spacer (5,000 miles on it since new) for an extra $400 on top of asking price (also negotiable)
- I could also sell a brand new MAC Catback Exhaust with stainless tail pipes. It's the 2.5"-3" System. I bought it for my last Mustang three years ago, never installed it, and has sat in my garage since. I could part ways with that for $350, negotiable as well
The bad?:
- The body is that of an 22 year old car, there are dents and dings but nothing crazy. The car went through the Meguiar's three step paint restoration process in the early winter of this past year
- There are a few minor spots of rust on the body of the car. You would be hard pressed to find even a nick of rot underneath the car, it is truly that clean
- The car needs a Speedometer Cable and E-Brake cables
- Also, the passenger side door handle is a little funny. Would the right touch it opens right up, I can do it just fine but it could probably use replacing
Car is painted in the rare 6V paint code which is Ford 'Almond'. Only 500 original 5.0 cars were painted this color, the number of 4 cylinder cars is unknown. The car is in very good condition with absolutely no rot underneath the car. There are a few minor spots of surface rust, the largest area being no larger than 2"x2". I bought the car with the intentions of building a stroker, upgrading the suspension and using it for a road course car for HPDE days and such. This would make a great car for someone who is looking to build either a sleeper, or have a VERY solid platform for say a '93 Cobra Clone.
Reason for selling? I've always wanted to build a car to race at Orange County and this Mustang can be my bargaining chip. I am asking $4,650 and will ponder a reasonable offer. I'm not too interested in trades but would entertain an offer for an Open Car Trailer plus cash or a race ready DIRT Pure Stock plus cash. If you have an offer to make, feel free to send it my way. I'm not the type of guy to give you the "don't waste my time, and I won't waste yours crap". If you have cash or trade and are interested, contact me via email and we can set up a date to see the car or I could send more pictures if need be. I am not in a hurry to sell, but would like to move on to another vehicle. The car is located in Carmel, NY- Just off exit 18 of Interstate 84. Thank you for looking at the ad!
