Hey folks,
I was lucky to grab an 04 Mustang (3.8L) in a so-so condition at good price. And I am planning to do something to make it cool again. As it was sitting in the garage for a while, so there are certain problems about it.
I recently looked underneath, and noticed that the Y-pipe corroded (or was damaged, cannot say for sure) and is no longer good. My Mustang has got dual exhaust, by the way. And I thought that if the rest of exhaust pipes and stuff is fine, I'd better replace that single tube only, as too much has to be invested into this Mustang anyways. And I guess I'll install the new catback later on... Anyways, wanted to ask you guys, if the aluminized stainless steel exhaust y-pipe is a good idea? Will it work fine with the rest of OE exhaust pipes? As I do not feel like I want the OE y-pipe, too expensive and as I said, in a year or 2 will get a new catback there anyways....
So what are your thoughts? Maybe anyone replaced the y-pipe only? Would be thankful for your comments and ideas.
Cheers!
