Last year best 11.901 @ 118.84 density altitude 1902 and 1 mph tailwind temp 67.1. This year 11.996 @ 116.76 da 3222 and 3 mph headwind temp 82.4. Could the difference in weather conditions cause 2 mph loss in the 1/4?
Ive made a few minor changes over the winter . Upped timing 12-14 ,3g alternator upgrade, conventional to full synthetic oil, mt et drag radials, plug gap .048 lowered to .035. Im just hoping one of my changes didnt cause the loss. I know the 3g alt had more drag than the stock one. I could feel the extra drag just by spinning them by hand which would use more hp. Figured the change to sythetic would offset the 3g. Also the new dr are the same size as the old dr used in last years run. Last year during assembly i set plug gap to .048 per msd 6al2 install book. This year when i changed plugs i asked the engine builder he said .035. Sorry for long post wanted to give as much info as possible. Thanks.....
