Back from NASA HPDE - Pocono East Course!

Well this was my first HPDE event, and what a BLAST!

The most fun I have ever had with my car, and probably the most fun with clothes on. After drag racing for years, I could care less to ever see the strip again.

The event was extremely well organized, all great people at the event!

My instructor was really helpful, and helped me realize how much there is to learn and I can't wait to go to the next event and learn it!

The east course is a very technical one, but I really enjoyed it!


I will probably sign up for the North Course for May 30/31st.

If anyone is interested in going to an event please let me know. I promise you'll be hooked and the most fun you can have with your car. You'll see anything from station wagons to Viper ACR's, so don't think your car isn't suitable for it!

man, i would love to go, ive gotten into Autocross and i think the only thing kooler than that is getting on a REAL TRACK. Unfortuantley / Fortunately i have a convertible so they will not let me run without a 4 point roll cage minimum. I really dont like the look of them but im dying to get out ther. I heard you get 2 or 3 20 min heats, thats a LONG time to concentrate, must be very difficult and fun.

Let me know the next time you go, i may just go as a spectator. I need some motivation to spend $1500 on an ugly ass Rol Cage.

it was really great! I am going to Englishtown's School/Open track day on memorial day. it's not a NASA event, and I don't expect it to be as good. but your more than welcome to come along.

I will let you know which one I sign up for.

At the nasa one, we had 4 15-20min sessions.

Nasa if a 45 membership fee annually, then usually about 275 per event (give or take). Sometimes they have back to back days and you can get about a $100 off if you do both. It's very well worth it!

E-town is a $225 course/full day. Once you do that, you get a green license and it's 125 bucks per open track day from there on out, with unlimited time. Albiet thats the same track each time with less instruction, but still a great deal.

My advice - sign up for NASA, do as many events as you possibly can and learn how to drive (trust me you get humbled very quickly). From there you can proceed as much as your wallet desires.

I'm trying to get a group of at least 5, 4 + me to go to an event. If anyone is interested let me know and I can try to coordinate it with NASA. There may be a discount involved if I can get 5 or more
