So after a little over a year my car roared to life yesterday and I have to say that it was music to my ears. I took the car to a local shop a little over a year ago for storage, complete paint job, and MANY mods while I was deployed to Iraq (DA Civilian). After 6 months in Iraq I come back to a car that was painted but far from complete. It was actually in pieces when I first went to see it in November when I got back here to the states.
Since it was the winter time here in Northern NY I told the shop to take their time and I'd like the car by March-ish time frame. Well, March came and went and so did the mechanic that was working on my car. This left my car in pieces and the only one that knew where everything went had either quit or got fired...not sure. So they put another mechanic on my car and with some help and alot of work on his part he finally got the thing running yesterday.
The car is very close to being finished, just a few last things that need to be done to it before I can drive it out of there. I'm getting EXCITED!!!....I can't wait to feel the power of the 2.9 Whipple under my foot.
Here is a list of things that were upgraded:
2.9L Whipple, Accufab SBTB, JLT RAI, DivisionX fuel rails, 80lb injectors, DivisionX idlers, ARH 1 3/4" Longtubes with 3" catted X, Steeda (Borla) catback, UPR K-member & A-arms, UPR Coilovers, MM CC plates, Strange adjustable struts, Steeda FLSFC's, McLeod RXT, complete T-56 rebuild by Tick Performance (stage 2), drive shaft loop, everything FTBR offers for the IRS, lvl 5 half shafts, Glenn's sleeper tank, twin Whalbro 255lph pumps (return style fuel system) Powerslot rotors, Hawk pads, CCW 505a's wrapped in BFG's, SpeedHut A/F gauge & Fuel pressure gauge, start up tune by Eric Brooks.
Here's a little clip of the start up...[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VetMrB52-Oc"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VetMrB52-Oc[/ame]
Sorry the car is dirty... it's not complete yet but I hope to be driving it very soon. I'll post pics and maybe another vid once it's finished. Big thanks go out to Lethal Performance, FTBR and Eric Brooks.
