I just recently had the gears strip out on me. I have some of it apart already. As you know it's not very easy to do anything under the dash. So far I haven't pulled the steering column or anything. I ssume to finish this job that's one of the things I'll have to do. Any hints, tips, or tricks...

If I was to remove the exhaust and run open headers would it improve performance or just the opposite? Thanks for any input.
