  • HAHA once again this dumb car lets me down, this time start the car to hear an awkward noise and open the hood to watch the damn thing just spit the serpentine belt out...
Well my car runs on Android now, Ford Alternators are total junk, and seems once I fix something, I find another thing that breaks... think this car is nearing it's end.

For the everyday person looking for an everyday car, it's pretty much on the dot, the one I picked up I twas a middle level trim, it had blindspot monitoring which I found a little inconsistent, seemed to only alert you under very certain conditions, Android Auto I want to say was nice but my phone actually soured the experience so much I actually ditched it days after getting home pretty much ending 11+ years of BlackBerry ownership. One thing I didn't use but really liked was the cargo shelf system where you can use the cover and put it into grooves to create a shelf, pretty useful and can double as a cargo cover. One little annoyance was the automatic tailgate, some times when you press the tailgate button, it had a tendency to open then close which had me pressing it a few times while my companions weren't finding it funny. Overall it's a solid car, with respectable mpg, and a lot of value for your money. As for Iceland, I think he went in the better part of the year, seems winter is a bit crazy, but I read November is best to get the Northern Lights, and just for that I ended up investing in some decent lenses finally. Really hoping to get some nice photos, especially going to try and beat the quality of those from my last Japan trip.

I checked out the Land Rover Discovery Wow 60k+ for new 50k for used ! They do look nice, you'll find out on your trip how they are !

It seems pricey but consider that's also the range for Explorers, Expeditions, Tahoes, and Grand Cherokees, think the F-150 and Silverado can be had at over 80k it seems the run of the mill cars have gotten so expensive it's made these luxury SUVs seem like a bargain actually. Top end price for Escalades and Navigators just cross the $100k mark, when I worked at FoMoCo was the Ford GT and looking at the used market damn was it a bargain when it was new (heard stories that the dealer adjustments killed off early buyers, and eventually ended up forcing dealers to sell cars way below sticker).
Trying to unload a set of wheels, any other active forums in the tristate area I can tap into as well?

Baz- Did you ever get that leak fixed in the Mustang ?

Yeah, in the end I just gave up and plastered the grommet things with silicone seems to have worked.
Ford's shitty build quality really testing my nerves...

That's what I was thinking when I researched it, I bought the replacement grommets which use a heat treated seal not the paper sponge crap, I even got a replacement cowl cover for the passenger side because the "weatherstripping" on the original disintegrated, but after this weekend I question if it is since I finally went for a drive only to have water gushing out from below the passenger side and further flooding it. It doesn't seem like there's a place for water to retain through the grommets issue, I know of the cabin filter where this can happen I did replace the cabin filter with a regular white oem one this time but it's spotless no residue of any kind. I get this feeling I might have to follow in the path of Silicone Sally...

Ok, so fortunately and bit of irony, my office flooded over the weekend and we've been working from home until further notice, so luckily I had time today to grab a spot in front of my house and do some work. Vacuumed a good 2 liters out of the carpets, the under side is drenched nothing much I could do, luckily looks like the SJB hasn't been getting wet. Did the grommet replacement, first off the originals are total crap, the heat sealed ones look more confident but does take patience. Also looks like Ford redesigned the cowl in 08, I broke a post on my original cowl so ordered a replacement and noticed it only had 4 posts not 5, this had to come up as a serious enough issues that they not only changed grommets but changed the cowl design on the fender edge as that grommet is no longer there. Added silicone sealer for good measure so hopefully this nightmare is over an I can move onto these annoying door inserts...

Paint has never been a strong suit for Ford. Ever.
Just got my car back from RealSpeed, and honestly want to thank them for really doing an awesome job. Car handles like a beauty you can feel ever road pit in your butt and spine, Steeda is serious stuff, but nothing beats being stuck in traffic next to a Testarossa and you being the loud one with the PYPES exhaust!

The Steeda springs are 1" in front 1.25 in the rear, was very surprised how you notice it but yes handling is so much different the steering is much more stiffer/tighter which I like but so is the ride quality, I took it out today on Ocean Pky and my friend said to take it easy it was giving him motion sickness, so yea it is far more bumpy.

Working on it, Saturday and Sunday were brutal in NYC so I stayed where the AC is lol. only visual difference is the dual exhaust but I'll take some pics and get video of the exhaust.
If everything goes to plan, car will be in RealSpeed at end of the month, and I'll be in Las Vegas for my conference in the meantime.
So update on ordering from NorthCoast Performance, wasn't bad at all got my FCA without a hitch, ordered them late night Friday after work showed up a week later. Only complaint was lack of communication only email I got was order confirmation but that's all, had to keep going back to the site to track the order.
Has anyone ordered online through NorthCoast Performance in Ontario,NY? Just wondering what kind of experience you had.

exactly what I paid, I'm just kinda wary of getting critical car parts off ebay, but I'll see if I get burned. At least I called up the place to make sure they're still in business.

Thanks for the advice, now have a good idea what to expect, looking to go Monday to a local shop few blocks from my house that's only had more than a few dozen 5 star reviews, Gabriel's Collision Center. Sure reviews are great but like anything you want to go in with some idea what to expect. Let you know how it goes on Monday.

HAHA thanks idothis, I guess we've found out what you do :)
Here's a funny story, found great deal on the M3075E FCA through Amazon Warehouse, when they arrive they didn't look correct, I feel that who ever returned these pulled a fast one on Amazon and swapped them with cheap/bad FCA. Did a Google search to see maybe I'm wrong and missed something, one FCA seemed similar to a 302S FCA but with 18MM blue ball joint. Find a post on Mustang source with my same problem, actually it was identical, he also ordered from Amazon but as a NIB. He says he returned them, but looks like amazon instead put them back into stock under warehouse deals and I was the sucker who bought it LOL Well my return is all setup so lesson learned, oh well was worth a try either I got an amazing deal on FCA or I take a short trip to UPS to drop them off, unfortunately it was the latter.
Took advantage of the Steeda Prez sale, funny how many parts I've bought the last couple years that maybe I should put them on my car finally.

Not to many parts bin boxes this year..........Scheduled my installs for March and April on my S550's. The sales all around at the vendors is sweeet.

I couldn't imagine the feeling, well hang in there.
So last last few hours of my road trip to San Francisco, I booked a 2014 Challenger R/T and honestly glad I did. The room and comfort was on par with a full size sedan but in a 2 door coupe. I honestly enjoyed driving it the last 10 days and will miss it. This is a Mustang club but it's important to know the other guys and hope the other guys build an awesome car, why because keeps Ford from getting lazy and keeps things exciting and we as drivers win. If you are looking for a fun road trip coupe I suggest calling Avis and trying out a Challenger. Now I need to test drive a 2015 Mustang to restore the faith.

That's good to know. Myself, NYStang and Captain Chris are renting a Mustang Vert and Challenger on our road trip from Vegas to Utah.
Anyone have the Raxiom 2010 Style Smoked Headlights for 05-09? Just want to know how the quality of brightness is compared to stock H13 lights. Also since these use the H9 bulb which is single filament, how does the high/low beam work?
    reptilla
    reptilla
No sure. The ddm kit is nice, all plug ad play but if I had to do it again I would look elsewhere. Really the shipping is that bad. H13 I know nothing about but the smoked lenses do hinder the output. Mine came with the H9 bulb which was not enough light.

Appreciate the help, I'll do some more research before I make any moves, but guess this confirms my feelings that I'd have to go HID on the 2010 Raxioms. Thanks!
