Well atleast i can keep the car till we either fix it or trade it for another stang. Not looking good for the rally unless someone has a donor 3.8l v6 motor for me :(
Well decided to find another 3.8v6 for the horse. Found one that was rebuilt 20k miles on it. Ford did a reman on it. Guy is going to sell the motor for $300 to me. Mine i believe the came is shot. Stupid motor put new lifters in the side i thought was bad. Nope still no oil pressure and running like crap. So i am done with it. Putting a different motor in it is the wiser choice right now.
Car passed inspection but not good new for me though. Front and rear mains are leaking pretty bad and the valve is getting worse in the motor. Looks like another motor in near future.
Well after all the new parts finally got to truly test my car today. From my work to the doctors office is 1.5hrs one way. All is well till i get to syracuse were the car started to heat up toward the l on normal which is higher then it usually runs. But then again it was 2:30pm and temps were hot today. So after docs appointment i took a look at the fan. Everything was hooked up fine. So i took my key and moved the fan to see if it was stuck. Turned little sticky but turned. So at 4pm way home she didn't climb above the normal temps on hot days she runs. Friggin I81 was rough mother though. Thank god for the new shocks. Road like a champ. Still have to fix the brake shoes on passenger front. They hang little bit cause i didn't file them down like my drivers side. No biggie. So all in all. She did great for me. I think i can trust her on long trips now.
Finally cars is almost done. Got new struts, calipers on front, parking brake cables, rear shocks and finally new door hinge pin on drivers side. Decided to paint the car with some help from brother inlaw(he has sprayer and some experience) to save some cash. Still need to fix or delete egr valve to help the car running. It is running rich and you can smell it in the car. One thing at a time though.
Going to be fun driving tomorrow with my 17" low profile tires. Got 4 for $40. All will pass inspection two are like new. Just have to watch out for potholes.
Meet and greet and cruise this month is cancelled. I will try next month. Car is still out of order somewhat and all ford show is the same weekend so i figured cancel it would be best thing to do. Maybe next month i can get more people.
Boy just can't catch a brake with this mustang. I figure i have a warped rotor on the front passenger side. Everything else has been replaced or lubricated up. So now i have to wait till i get the money for a new rotor. I am getting very frustrated with it. Oh yeah what would cause my oil pressure to go well below normal at idle but as soon as i gas the car is goes up again? I figure i have a burnt valve on drivers side also. Car doesn't run right and most of the noise is coming from top of engine on drivers side. Going to drive it till this winter then tear the head off again and see if i can figure out what valve is bad. I am so glad this car was beat to hell when i got it motor wise.
I hate calipers for my car. Stupid things are expensive and have to wait for them to come in stock. I got one on the passenger front that is not releasing right and causing the brake pads to scrub the rotor making alot of noises and pulling to the right when brakes are applied. Grrr....
Drove the stang and found out the battery was cracked. SO i replaced it today. So more and more parts. Hopefully that will fix any issues for awhile. Pocket is getting empty fast cause of the stang lol.....
