  • Cold air induction and gasket installed today. Gasket help lowered the amount of exhaust in the car but not much for the noise though. CAI was a pain in the ass today. Now waiting for cats tomorrow and then some nice 17" tires for my rims and we are on the road again!!!!!
Ok straight through cats ordered tonight. Will have installed when the come in. $39.99 each not bad price from http://www.frozenboost.com/

No but I'm saying you noticeably lose low end without the cats.

Yeah but i have a feeling the motor has close to 250k on it so low end torque/power is pretty much not there anymore. Motor really needs to be torn down and rebuilt to get anyway near the stock hp they came with. Plus with these cats the 5.0 swap will be a breeze.

Plus it is only running 2" dual exhaust unlike most 2.5" exhaust that built motors run. The lack of a gasket next to header you can feel the blow by the gasket area and fumes are killer and noise is mad inside the car. I will keep that in mind though on my next mustang though.
Picking up my air filter today for my cold air induction from advanced auto parts. Then putting it on the car today along with my new gasket i have for the exhaust. Fun fun fun. Oh yeah going to see if i can find some cheap 17" tires for my rims and put atleast two on the car for now.
What a blast we had today cruising around. Man i picked up exhaust gasket for the header today on the way home. Man that car gave me a headache so i am hoping that gasket will put the noise out the back where it belongs and give me some hp back. Will be doing it again guys.
Wahoo finally got the car up and running good enough to drive. Intake had major leak and so i took it off and clean it and the intake on car. Put the intake back on and torqued the crap out of it. Check all hoses to make sure they are tight and working. EGR valve is not working right due to a broken pipe where one of the hoses connects from sensor. So car will die out when cold but when it is warmed up runs like a champ. Some hesitation but stays running and that is the key thing. So i will have red mustang at meet tomorrow.
well i believe the o2 sensor not hooked up on drivers side is causing it to run really rich. I can smell strong odor of gas on drivers side not passengers side where the o2 sensor is hooked up. So off to put one in will report back if that fixes some of the issues.
Well a friend of the family said the problems i have with car might be tps. Worth a shot.

Yeah i started it tonight and it rev'd up to 2000 then idled down to 1000 and then down to 500 and back up to 2000 and then back down and pretty much stalled the car. Sounds like the sensor is fubar.
Taking intake back off car to make sure all the gaskets are clear of debris and are in good shape. Then put it all back together and fire it up tomorrow and see what she does.

ok would a loose egr valve on the intake cause the issues i am experiencing? Mine was loose on the intake. I believe they regulate air to fuel mixture and if not sealed to intake it will cause to much air so the computer tells the injectors to push more fuel thus flooding out the car? I think that is how it works or something along that line. Either way i will fire it tomorrow after work and hope for the best.
Yep not my day. Friggin reseated the injectors and now the car revs up to 1500-2000 then down to 500 and quits. Not a happy camper right now.
Go figure fucking injectors will not seal to head. Love ebay and the fucking lies. Grr now i have to return them and find the correct injectors. Grrrr..........

Yeah i learned my lesson i am going to try one more thing. I forgot to grease them up before putting them into the head. Going to pull grease then reinstall. If that doesn't work then i am pulling them all and sending them back.
Ok would the hose running from the pcv unhooked off the intake would it make the car idle rough and die out? I think i might not got this hose hooked up to the intake....

Yeah that 5.0 is a beast. I pulled out in the road today and a big truck came around a blind corner and man i stood on it and it put me in the seat and took off like a friggin rocket. Never has my 2005 able to do that. And still managed 19mpg. Puts my stang to shame.

    Yes it will
Car is fixed except the cats. What a pain in the ass changing the coil spring. Now i need to bleed brakes so i can have them back. Then find someone to pass it through inspection friday. Oh yeah the truck was pulling 19mpg today getting the car part. Amazing truck just gets better and better. Meet and greet is still on for this saturday regardless of the stang.
Well found the coil spring for mustang picking it up monday and replace it. Then putting the rest of the rebuilt injectors in car to help it running better. Then i have to get some weld in cats to pass inspection. Car will be ready by next saturday for the cruise.
Well another set back on mustang. One of the front springs is broke and i need to put a cat on it to pass inspection. Grrrr
Well traded in the 2005 F150 for a 2011 F150 with the 5.0. Man much better gas mileage just driving it home only took 1/8 which the 2005 used over 1/4 from cortland to seneca falls and back to cortland and back to seneca falls. Averages around 17-18mpg on highway with high head winds tonight. Will have pics tomorrow of truck.
