Default Nitto NT05 or Nitto NT 555R Drag Radial?

Have 275-40-17 BFG sports on the back now and they are just about done after about a full summer of driving like an idiot...but put a huge hurting on them after the 3.73's were installed b.c i couldnt hook...Might make it to the track once or twice a summer to see what my new parts have done but mostly just ripping up the streets...dont know ne thing about this Nitto NT05 really? says max. summer tire? ne-1 use it or hear about it? dont know if i should go to a drag radial. looking to get atleast 12-15k out of the tire...thinking the drag radials will get close to that because yes they are softer but i wont b spinning as much?... please put in your because i need 2 order like this week...

looking for something i might be able 2 actully launch the car out of the hole? right now i cant even get on my car in 1st without spinning all the way.

I have heard you really have to heat up 555's thus making them not last as long.

unfortunatly with tires you cant have it all. they either last or stick. bfg kdw NT is probably your best bet

You will never get 12-15k out of a drag radial, you will be lucky if you get half that.

Do not know about the NT05.

I put a set of NT555s on the back. Great performance, but I do make it a habit of pulling hole shots. Also they come in a 285 width which will fit the stock rim just fine where as anything wider is questionable.

I have Nitto 315 DR's out back out a 10.5" wheel!! ...Best All-Around DR on the streets as far as I'm concerned!! ...With my Old Fox, I cut a 1.65 60' time (275/40-17) & a 1.82 60' time in the DSG with the 275's (I have yet to try the 315's at the track)...

FYI: The Nitto 315 DR's WILL mount on a 9" wheel with a little bulge << Looks good IMO!!

Nitto 555r's plain old suck, they dont hook, its like driving with street tires.

I would personally recommend the M/T ET STREETS, hooks like a champ and lasts about 4-6 months

I saw a set of the new Nitto 055 DRs (new tread design) at MUSTANG MAGIC the other day. Sticky very STICKY even Joe was impressed. The guy that put it on his Shelby Cobra was VERY IMPRESSED. I have a set of 555s on mine and has worn really well but I know they were not the best for hooking up at the track. But it was a GREAT DR for the street.
