Default considering 4.10 gears.

Thinking about getting some 4.10's. Not now, but when some cash comes my way. for those who have them lets have some input. My car is not a dd, but it also isn't a track car. More like a weekend and sometimes week driver.

Thinking the same swap, Intake, tune, gears. Too bad my history with mods before this car is so tainted that everything I touch gets messed up. The cost to do it yourself is a lure and fear of having to have someone repair the damage I do. I want it done by someone but cost will decide the timing.

I would really NOT go 4:10s if you are ever thinking about going Forced Induction... I would do 3:73s tops with F/I, Its really just personal preference I have know guys with our body to get 4:10s then go 4:20s but that is now a strictly natuarly aspirated track car...

You normally get 4:10s when you get high Lift cams because of the low end torque that you lose... With F/I especially twin screw you will just spin till you hitt 3rd...

just my $0.02

4.10s with a centrifical blower are fine since you are not in boost all the time. I would agree that 3.73s with a roots type blower are the way too go. BTW tire size can also effect your gearing. A larger tire size tends too lower your gearing. So if you have a tall tire and are running 4.10s it actually more like 3.73s. This is something I have learned talking too friends and the mechanics at Mustang Magic.

All points taken. Thanks. I do plan to go F/I later this year. I am going with the new edelbrock supercharger. I guess I'll wait and see. Going to 3.73 I think would be a waste of time and money, I already have 3.55's in there. Just feeling around.

I've done a lot of research and spoken to many with 4.10's... It's a personal thing... Mine aren't in yet, but know from the lag on my Bullitt that 4.10's will give me what I want... Just use caution and do lots of research... The info I've gotten says stay away from the Motive gears and go with the FRPP... The motives often make noise...
