I bought this car for the engine. It has the 2.3 turbo 4 cylinder that's in the Mustang SVO and the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. I was going to swap it into a 86 notch, but it turns out the Merkur was in better shape.
It's got 63k miles on it. I got it from the original owner. It's an automatic. The clearcoat on the roof and hood is peeling. The interior is dryrotted. Engine runs mint and builds 10 psi, which is what the autos were set to. It has receipts for a new turbo (T3) and Borla exhaust. Tranny shifts good. Suspension and brakes are good. Tires look good. Bi plane spoiler, moonroof, rear wiper, all sorts of weird 80's goodness.
Windshield has a crack, a/c is all there but doesn't work, its really dirty, and the engine let's out a puff of oil smoke from the valve seals if you let it sit for a few days. Would make a good winter beater, restore it, take the engine and part it.....whatever.
$500 takes it. It's in Queens and should drive wherever. Pics on Thursday.
